Vargas and Mike Perlstein report that Foster died on Monday. Police arrested him after a high-speed chase on Saturday. He was then involved in a fight at the Pickens County Jail with another detainee.
Illinois State Rep. Kam Buckner (D-Chicago), who also played football at Illinois, posted a tribute to Foster on Twitter Tuesday. Foster played at Illinois from 2008-2012. He signed with New Orleans as an undrafted free agent and played two seasons for the Saints.
