WILL-FM listeners can join host Christian McBride each weekend for 'Jazz Night in America.'

URBANA — Weekend listeners to WILL-FM may have noticed the exciting sounds of jazz returning to our airwaves last weekend with the debut of NPR’s Jazz Night in America.

Grammy-award winning bassist, composer and bandleader Christian McBride is the host of Jazz Night. Illinois Newsroom’s Brian Moline spoke with him earlier this week.

Hear the eight-minute interview that aired on WILL.

McBride says listeners can expect an informative and in-depth hour of jazz when they tune in each week.

“I always like to call Jazz Night in America the 60 Minutes of jazz,” McBride said. “You actually go deep into the real root of the presentation. The who, the what, the where, and most importantly, the why. I really think we give the most thorough stories, and entertaining and interesting stories, in jazz.”

WILL-FM listeners can hear Jazz Night in America each Saturday at 10pm, and again each Sunday at 9pm.
