Weather related closings for Thursday, February 17

URBANA — Many cities, schools, and other organizations are announcing closings and cancellations because of possible flooding, icy conditions, and snow in central Illinois. We will include as many of them as possible in this article, organized by location.

The following closures are for Thursday, February 17:

Champaign

Champaign Head Start Public Schools – dismissing at 12:00 PM today, virtual parent-teacher conferences will continue as scheduled
Parkland College –  All classes have been canceled and all offices will be closed as well.
Champaign Unit 4 – Closing 1 hour early, Afternoon CECC and after-school activities are canceled.
City Building and Public Works Facility closed to the public
Champaign County Clerk and Recorder’s office closed to the public
Champaign Public Library – Both locations close at 1 pm.

Urbana

School District #116 – No rural bus routes, afternoon Pre-K canceled, elementary school will dismiss at 12:45 p.m. UMS will dismiss at 1:15 p.m, UHS will dismiss at 12:26 p.m.
Urbana Head Start – Dismissing at 12:00 PM today. Virtual P/T conferences as scheduled
Urbana Park District – All trails closed

Danville

School District #118 – E-Learning Day
Public Library
– closed on Thursday                                                    
Danville City Buildings – closed as of 2:30 p.m.    

Decatur

Public Schools – E-learning day, All athletics, extra-curricular activities, and Extended Day programs are canceled

Piatt County 

Monticello CUSD #25 – Monticello Public Schools closed today, all activities are canceled.

Rantoul

Rantoul City Schools – E-Learning day, all after-school activities and programs except for the JW Eater band concert are canceled. The cancellations include ExPLORES, DREAMM, and DMBGC. A final decision regarding the band concert will be made by noon on Thursday.

Rantoul  Public Library – closed

DeWitt

Clinton Unit School District #15 – closed

Mahomet Seymour Schools –  E-learning day

Illinois State University – closed; all classes (in-person, hybrid, online) will be canceled. Residence halls and residential dining centers will remain open.

Illinois College – most campus offices will be closed; classes will be held virtually.
